Bu yoğurdu sarımsaklasak da mı saklasak, sarımsaklamasak da mı saklasak? (Should we put the yogurt away after adding garlic to it, or before adding garlic to it?) [A tongue-twister]

This weekend was a three-day program-sponsored trip to the Black Sea including all students, teachers, and conversation partners, as well as CLS staff, and the friendly visitor from the State Dept. Suffice to say, it was phenomenal and the town of Amasra is staggeringly beautiful and also historic.
(Again, if you are on the front page, you are required to click read more. LOTS of pictures.)

We left at around 9 AM, and due to some programming error did not have lunch until late in the afternoon, which was lame but something that could be dealt with. The restaurant we went to as part of the trip had some pretty poor et döner, but I dug the bread a lot. Jack and I were eating a lot of bread to make up for the small portion size, but unfortunately the waiter took away our bread basket while we were still eating from it. Xhessica kindly gave me two extra pieces when we left, and apparently me running down the street with two pieces of bread to catch up with Jack and offer him one (which he didn't actually end up wanting) was a comical site.

After lunch and checking into the hotel, it was beach time. There were two very close beaches. This is the first one where we went swimming on our free time.
Note the inflatables. You had to pay to use them. Depressing, much? Also, this is not the prettiest picture. More are coming.

Another angle of the beach.

My previous conversation partner had been replaced, so on the morning of the trip, I met my new conversation partner, Doruk. He is a fantastic and great guy, and he is also pretty funny. He's into orienteering, so after swimming, we picked up a map from the hotel and successfully saw pretty much every easily accessible site of Amasra before dinner. You cannot beat that!!!

Pictures will narrate the tale:
This is the other beach. It's prettier, but rockier.
Tourist street.

In front of Amasra tower.

Atatürk watches over the town.

The old chapel which later became a mosque and is now closed

Hilltop view of boats and stuff

Pier which we are going to walk on shortly....
Not sure what this is, but it's mad cool.
Live fish restaurant.

Small cave in the rocks.

A lot of fishermen fish on the rocks.
They also catch a lot of fish.
The pier again.

Small lighthouse at the pier's end. The pier is a wonderful, wonderful walk.

Some graffiti on the right side wall.

 More tourist shops.
 Historic mosaic
 Fatih Mosque
 Famous entry way thing.

Doruk, map in hand.

Yep, so we did all of that in a pretty short amount of time. Killer, right?
We then had dinner in the hotel, and hung out with some people afterwards. I got tea, and me and only myself had it on the house for no obvious reason other than that people in Turkey like me. Right.
I think I am going to have to split this into another post...

Title is a tongue-twister Doruk taught me.
